Are You Consciously Acting Or Unconsciously Reacting?

An action is a movement which arises within Consciousness and is therefore not limited by its environment. A reaction is a movement in Consciousness, it does not arise and therefore is entirely limited by the environment in which it exists.

There are such a large variety of different philosophical, religious, and spiritual doctrines that have been created and delivered to humanity over the many years. Fundamentally though, once we peel back the specific images, words and concepts which make us give each of these systems their own individual identities, we come to see that the vast majority of them are fundamentally pointing to the same principle at their core. This core principle is pertaining to us becoming more conscious in some way, often being wrapped up in a specific context. In other words, there are multiple different paths available to us that help us come to realise the difference between taking conscious action and unconsciously reacting to our environment.

This idea of ‘conscious action’ is expressed across these systems via the use of a variety of different ideas and concepts. Although it is possible to look at many of these different ideas and concepts and become focused on some of the minor differences between them, in these shorter articles it is a much wiser use of our time to look at the major similarities between them. It is by doing this that the article can then serve as a tool that helps to unify our conscious perception, rather than creating further degrees of separation within it. Much longer articles have been created in the Ancient Wisdom Talks articles that afford us the time to be able to delve into some of the more technical differences between these concepts and systems in greater depth within them.

Although it may seem simple to read the quote that has been included at the start, which this particular article is in some way based upon, the reader must remind themselves that there is a huge difference between reading it, intellectually understanding it, and making this understanding a part of their own lives by bringing their own actions into alignment with that statement at each and every moment. Making this a part of their own lives can only truly be achieved once they have internally realised what the statement is bringing into their awareness, which is something much deeper than merely intellectually understanding what has been stated.
