A Poem

Grace

Searching all over to find,
Lost in the trappings of my mind,
Searching all the phenomena outside of me,
In the end I finally came to see,
Any effort placed toward,
This goal which became so untoward,
Was lost to the game we play,
Interacts with us in a mindless way,
Letting go I finally came,
To see the players, one and the same,
No effort made could ever get,
Us to the place where we feel met,
This place is locked within us deep inside,
The key-holder found far beyond the mind.

Meditation For The Poem

It is no coincidence that the concept of Grace exists in such a large number of different religions, philosophical doctrines, and spiritual frameworks across the globe. Each of these systems may have even been developed in, and as a part of, different epochs, cultures, and languages. We would be fools to become aware of this fact and to brush it off as a mere coincidence. If we look at this fact sincerely, we realise that the existence of this concept in so many systems is as a result of there being some fundamental truth that it relates to that must in some way transcend the limits that any particulars of these religions, doctrines and frameworks would establish as differences between them.
