A Poem

My Final Submission

O Father, who watches over all,
Here my submission as I fall,
Demolish this life given to me,
Make it an icon of what it means to be free.

O Mother Divine, with your nourishing hug,
As I lay myself in front of you on my prayer rug,
Accept me into your warm embrace,
Leave nothing of me, not even a trace.

Meditation For The Poem

On my own journey I witnessed many people, both teachers and students, completely misunderstand the essence of the spiritual process. Spirituality, within the context of its more modern interpretation, is fraught with many dangers which can perplex and confuse the aspirant as they progress along their path. It is even possible for some of these misconceptions to end up acting like ‘traps’ which completely stunt the progress of the aspirant until, like a puzzle, they are realised and resolved. When we begin our journey, we can start to become enthralled with this new world that we discover, the ‘spiritual’ world, and forget that it is also just another stage in the total journey of our life.
