Part 20: Manifestation & Divine Love
Becoming aware of the impetus and force that lies behind the cosmic process
This article is part of the Unified Consciousness Framework series. To gain the maximum benefit from reading this series it would be wise to read them sequentially.
In the previous parts of the framework we have looked at the concepts of ‘the one’, unity, and the interconnectedness which exists in all things. At the same time, we also looked at the idea of the many, that is to say, how this one can be manifested into many different individual and unique parts. Becoming aware of these opposing ideas at this most fundamental level will often result in certain conflicts arising within us. These conflicts present themselves to us as internal questions that we are required to look for the answers to in order to resolve them. Such questions could also be expressed by us externally, but this is not always the case.
The first stage of the process we go through in order to try to answer these questions requires us to first become aware of the fact that there even is some question that exists within us that requires answering on some level. We can then go through the process of identifying the particular nature of that question which, up until that moment, could have been something that we were completely unaware of. At this stage of the process we are usually not aware that this question is a biproduct of some internal conflict going on within us, even though we may have become aware of the existence of the question itself.
Once we do become consciously aware of this question, it becomes impossible for us to ignore it. We can think of this as being something similar to suspecting that your partner is cheating on you. Whilst the scenario remains a possibility to you, it is possible for you to carry on without having to resolve the issue. You may feel uncomfortable or uneasy to some degree. This changes considerably though if instead of suspecting what is going on, you were to see the situation unfolding right in front of you and, at the same time, your partner becomes aware that you have also seen it. Going forward now, it becomes extremely hard for both people to continue with their lives as they were before without at least making some effort to address the issue. This is a major root cause of many of the distracting activities people find themselves becoming involved with. They are subconsciously trying to create enough external activity that these internal questions do not become held in their awareness for too long because they will then be forced to have to begin trying to resolve them.
You see, sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is to actually look. To illustrate this point, imagine going on a hike. At some point during the hike your one foot begins to become agitated. You try to continue with your hike by taking your attention away from your foot. You may try to achieve this by playing various games with yourself or by setting various tasks for you to complete along that path. At some point, the agitation begins to transform into a pain. Because you think there is no solution, and you would like to complete your hike, precisely because of the pain you are experiencing, you become focused on trying to ignore the pain. However, once you all of a sudden realise that the pain is being caused by a small stone that has found its way into your shoe, you then realise that there is a solution to the problem. You then know that in order to complete your hike and resolve the issue, the most appropriate thing that you can do is, for a brief moment, to take your shoe off and shake the stone out.
