Looking at our experience of love and how this relates to our self development

It is entirely possible to experience love and live a life full of it without ever touching someone else.

The power of love is something which is difficult to deny when looking at the world around us. Here, I am not just referring to the force that is related to an individual’s drive to want to procreate, but the desire to want to have someone else to share certain experiences with as a part of our lives. Adopting a more scientific approach to understanding the reasons for this, we often like to try to reduce these feelings to some chemical process that is occurring within the body, however, there is something far deeper going on here.

We see the concept of love being referred to constantly in various different aspects of our lives and the society we live in. Without realising it, many of our daily activities are often related to subconsciously trying to bring this experience into our lives in some way. Something we can look at to illustrate this is to observe how this concept has become the focus of so many artists’ works and the foundational basis of so many stories that have been written about, both old and new. If this power is existent in a person’s life, it can create a hope and drive that takes them far beyond what we may typically think would be possible for them to achieve without it.
