A Poem

Shining Light

Shining Star,
So very far,
Up above,
Full of love.

Shining light,
Shimmering bright,
You help rarify,
My mind’s eye.

Bounding leap,
As if to creep,
Across the sky,
I watch you fly.

My wish one day,
Within Life’s play,
To hold you tight,
Oh, what a delight!

Meditation For The Poem

Life is filled with so many little delights. Even looking up at the night sky can cause us to have experiences which go far beyond the limitations of what we think should be logically possible. Our ancient ancestors used the night sky as the basis for many of the systems which were developed, including the likes of medicine, astrology, navigation, agriculture and much more. As our society has developed and ‘progressed’, we have drowned the night sky out with lights, so much so that people often need to travel outside of cities to become aware of the fact that the stars are even still there.
