What It Means To Be Human
Clearly perceiving the potential inherent in the experience of being human
Clearly perceiving the potential inherent in the experience of being human
If we could stop ourselves for a moment from trying to ‘transcend our humanity’ and chasing the dream of becoming something ‘trans-human’, we may be able to give ourselves the ability to understand what the true potential of being human actually is.
The structure we have created in society today generally places an emphasis on our intellects and engaging in a variety of different activities and endeavours primarily through the use of our intellects. This is something that can be observed fairly easily if one affords themselves the time to become observant. It will be significantly more difficult to notice this though in the instances where an individual has not removed the specific block in their own conscious perception which has them perceiving the use of the intellect as being the only way in which they can interact and engage with the world around them.
There are many justifications for continuing to pursue this line of reasoning. One of the most obvious of these being that as this is the way in which we have ‘advanced’ up to where we find ourselves today, in order to continue to advance further still, we think that we would be required to continue to employ similar methods and techniques. There are many individuals in the human collective that therefore think that continuing to engage with the world in the same manner is what will produce breakthroughs and new technologies, which will bring a variety of great benefits with them to us.
